Dancesport or competitive ballroom dancing as seen on TV is a more disciplined form of dance.  This style can take your dancing to a higher level with endless possibilities and just as much fun as social dancing. There are many competitive students of all ages taking lessons at our studio. They compete at regular dancesport competitions – locally, throughout the U.S. and the rest of the world.  Students can compete at different levels that include newcomer, bronze, sillver, gold and open gold. Dancesport allows you to combine travel to exciting new places to meet new people and to improve your dancing!

We support our competitive students, both those who dance with their instructors in Pro-Am competitions and those who pair up with another amateur to compete.

Pro-Am Competition

Students who regularly take private lessons may compete with their instructors at

dancesport competitions in the Pro-Am (professional/amateur) Divisions. Competing at the Pro-Am level takes a great deal of discipline and practice.  Students often find that the rigor of competing helps them realize their goals of taking their dancing to a higher level.  Pro-Am competitions include divisions for International Latin & Standard, American Smooth & Rhythm, Country Western, Swing, and Hustle.

Amateur Competition

Many of our students find amateur partners and take advantage of our instructors’ extensive competitive experience to prepare for amateur dancesport competitions. We offer group classes, shared private lessons, practice sessions, and special competitive training programs, all geared toward developing competition routines, skills, and stamina.
